A fair bit. Entries between terraces in Lye were built to whatever suited the plot, so they are rarely square and frequently narrower at the back than the front. We measure at several points and make the gate for the tightest one, then pack the hanging side so the finished gate looks like it belongs. It is why these gates get made rather than bought.
Measuring is usually within a few days of the call, and most gates are fabricated and fitted within a few weeks of that. Usually we can get very close. Send a photo or let us look at what is there and we will match the bar spacing, height and top detail so a replacement section reads as part of the same run. On very old cast work an exact match in fabricated steel is not always possible, and we will show you the difference before you commit rather than after.
